Shared Support (Day Programs)
Some people call it a day program. We call it a great day out. Whether you're joining a group to try something new, catch up with mates, or work towards a goal, our Shared Support is designed to make it fun, flexible, and genuinely worthwhile.
We’re big on real relationships, consistent staff, and making sure every day is something to look forward to. There’s no one-size-fits-all plan here. Just thoughtful, well-matched support that helps you build skills, form connections, and have a good time doing it.
Shared Support That Feels Like a Good Day
Our small-group day programs give participants the chance to get out, try new things, learn new skills, and enjoy social time in the community. Whether you're a participant looking for more freedom and connection, or a parent wanting to see your loved one thrive, our Shared Support is designed to make life more enjoyable.
Sometimes all it takes is the right crew, a fun plan, and someone to back you and suddenly, the day feels lighter. That’s what Shared Support at 4u Care is all about.
What is Shared Support?
Shared Support (also known as 1:2 support) is a small group of participants head out together with their support workers. It's a great way to build friendships, confidence, and independence without giving up the individual care and safety you deserve.
This might look like:
Café hangs, fishing trips or footy days
Art workshops or DIY projects
Cooking sessions or market runs
Learning how to navigate public transport
Working on money skills in real-life settings
We take the time to match people based on shared interests and personalities so everyone feels comfortable. Some participants come with friends they already know. Others find their people along the way. Whether you’re into arts, animals, sport or music, we’ll help you find the activities that bring you joy and the people who make it better.
We’re always evolving our programs based on what our participants enjoy. Some days are big, some are cruisy, and all of them are built around the interests of our participants.
Why Families Choose 4u Care for Shared Support
Real connections. We put time into getting to know people and creating the right group dynamics
Reliable crew. You’ll see familiar faces, not a revolving door
Activities with purpose. We focus on fun, inclusion, and skill-building
Ongoing input. We listen to feedback and adapt the schedule so the program keeps working for you.
We offer Shared Support across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, and the Central Coast. Our vans are all wheelchair accessible, and we can pick you up and drop you off to make the day easier.
Getting There Is Part of the Fun
Our vans have just as much personality as our people. You might ride with Van Diesel or Vanpire, but either way, you’ll get where you’re going safely, comfortably, and with the right vibe. Whether it’s the beach, a café catch-up or an art class, our NDIS transport support makes it easy to get out and about. That way, you can focus on what really matters: friendship, fun, and a day that feels like you.
The Right Support,
The Right Ratio
We offer:
1:1 or 1:2 Support: shared time with a support worker and like-minded participants. This keeps things social, engaging, and cost-effective.
Flexibility and choice: you decide how often, how long, and what kind of activities feel good for you.
Consistent workers: familiar faces who show up, stay engaged, and know how to read the room.
Whether it’s building confidence, stepping outside your comfort zone, or just having a laugh, we make sure everyone gets what they need from the day.
