Participant Stories

Hear It From the People Who Know Us Best

We could talk all day about what we do at 4u Care, but the people who really tell the story best are the ones living it.

Our participants (and their families) are the heart of everything we do. From building independence and smashing goals to forming real friendships and getting out in the community, these stories show what happens when you’ve got the right support behind you.

Whether it’s consistent 1:1 care, help navigating complex needs, or simply someone who shows up with a smile and a plan, these legends (and their support crews) share what it’s like to be part of the 4u Care family.

What does a great NDIS experience look like?

Hear it from 4u Care participant, Emma.

Emma’s a walking trivia night host when it comes to animals, bugs, and clowns and she’s always up for a good chat about them. Her laugh? You’ll hear it before you see her and to us, that’s the sound of someone feeling completely themselves. At 4u Care, that’s what we’re all about: support that gives people the freedom and confidence to express themselves and live life their way. Want to hear it in Emma’s own words? Hit play.

What does everyday life look like with the right NDIS support?

Here’s what Sam has to say.

Sam’s the first one through the door at The Hub each morning always with a grin and a plan. From helping with chores and collecting fresh eggs (yes, even squeezing his 6-foot frame into the chicken coop!). He’s often spotted repping Newcastle Knights merch (which our fellow knights fans / support workers love) and helping keeping things tidy. Want to hear why he shows up smiling every day? Watch what Sam has to say.

What kind of difference can the right support make?

Check out Ricky’s take on confidence, connection, and giving things a go with 4u Care shared support.

Ricky’s a familiar face at the Hub, and one of the first to say g’day when you walk through the door. These days, you’ll catch him giving rock climbing a crack, planning his next outing, and jumping into group activities with confidence. But it wasn’t always like that. Before 4u Care, Ricky was stuck in a bit of a rut. Now, it’s more “why not?” than “what if?”. His support crew backs him every step of the way, and he’s learned just how much he’s capable of. Want to hear it in his own words? Watch Ricky’s story.

What can long-term Disability Support look like?

Hear it from long-time 4u Care participant, Spooner.

Spooner’s been part of the 4u Care crew since the early days. Around here, he’s known as “Guns” for a reason (💪🏻) and keeps the team on their toes with quick wit, cheeky one-liners, and a deep love for the Parramatta Eels. He’s happiest when he’s out and about with his support worker: cruising on a skateboard, watching birds at the beach, or just giving something new a crack. He doesn’t just take part in the fun, he is the fun. Want to hear what 6 years of solid support sounds like? Watch Spooner in action.
