Everyone deserves a home that actually works for them.

Not just a roof, four walls and a ramp but a place where you can get around easily, feel safe, and live how you want to.

SDA should feel like freedom, not fuss. Comfort, not compromise. And if it’s done right? It feels like home.

That’s what we’ve built at 4u Care. Our SDA Villas in Wallsend were designed specifically for people with high physical support needs. They’re modern, light-filled and fully accessible, with practical features that make daily life smoother.

These aren’t generic units with a ramp out the front. They’ve been purpose-built with care, attention to detail, and the understanding that your home should work for you, not the other way around.

Whether you're ready to move or still figuring things out, we’re here to make the process clearer and more straightforward.

Let's Talk SDA

What is SDA?

SDA stands for Specialist Disability Accommodation. It’s NDIS funding that helps cover the cost of living in a home that’s been specially designed for people with high physical support needs or extreme functional impairment.

At 4u Care, we’ve already built the homes, purposefully and properly, with features like wide doorways, step-free bathrooms, lifts and structural support for ceiling hoists, and more.

The SDA funding helps you live in a home like this because homes built for higher support needs take more to get right. From the design, to the technology, to the way it’s maintained over time, there’s a lot that goes into making sure the home works for you. The funding ensures you can access a place that truly fits, without having to compromise on safety, comfort or independence.

If you also need help with day-to-day things like personal care, meal prep or social support, that’s where SIL (Supported Independent Living) comes in. You can have SDA, SIL, or both depending on what’s in your plan.

Not sure how it all fits together? That’s what we’re here for.

If you’re unsure, that’s okay. We’re happy to talk you through it or work with your coordinator to figure out next steps.

LETS CHAT

SDA and SIL:

What’s the difference, and how do they work together?

SDA: Specialist Disability Accommodation

  • Covers the physical home

  • Funded by the NDIS for specialist housing

  • Helps you live safely and comfortably in your own space

  • You can have one, or combine both, depending on your plan

SIL: Supported Independent Living

  • Covers the daily support services

  • Funded by the NDIS for help with daily living

  • Helps you manage things like meals, hygiene, and routines

  • You can have one, or combine both, depending on your plan

At 4U Care, we offer both SDA housing and SIL support. That means we can help coordinate a setup that works together, without back-and-forth between different providers.
